Domain Registration Terms
The terms that apply when you register or renew a domain name through Electre. They sit alongside our Terms of Service.
Effective 25 September 2026
Draft for legal review. These terms must be reviewed by a lawyer before domain sales launch.
Who registers your domain
Electre is a reseller of domain registration services. Electre is not a domain name registrar and is not accredited by ICANN.
Domains bought through Electre are registered through Amazon Route 53. The sponsoring registrar is Amazon Registrar, Inc., or its associate Gandi SAS for some domain endings. Your domain's details in Electre show the registrar for that domain, and you can look it up at any time with ICANN's lookup tool.
If you ask us which registrar sponsors your domain, we will tell you. Write to hello@electre.ai.
Your registration is also governed by the registrar's registration agreement and by the policies of the registry that runs your domain's ending. By registering you agree to them as well.
Price and renewal
The price shown before you buy is Electre's price for one year of registration. It is the amount charged to your wallet, and nothing more is added at checkout. If the price changes between the moment you see it and the moment you buy, we stop and show you the new price first.
A domain renews every year at Electre's renewal price unless you turn auto-renew off. With auto-renew off we remind you 30 days before it expires. If a domain expires, the registrar's expiry and redemption policies apply, and the name may become available to others.
Accurate contact details
You must give accurate and reliable contact details for the registrant: full name, postal address, email address and phone number, and an organisation name if the domain is held by one.
You must keep them up to date. Correct them within 7 days of any change, from the domain's details in Electre (Registrant, then Edit).
Giving wilfully inaccurate or unreliable details, failing to update them promptly, or failing to answer within 15 days an inquiry about their accuracy is a material breach of these terms and can lead to the domain being suspended or cancelled.
How your contact details are used
We collect the registrant's contact details to register and maintain your domain. We share them with the registrar, the registry that runs your domain's ending, and ICANN and its approved data escrow agents, because the domain system requires it. They are used for registration, renewal and transfer, for the public registration directory (WHOIS or RDAP) where the rules require, and to resolve disputes.
Privacy protection is on for every domain bought through Electre, so where the registry allows, the public directory shows the registrar's privacy details instead of yours.
You can see and correct your details at any time from the domain's details in Electre. We and the registrar take reasonable steps to protect them from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration and destruction. Our Privacy Policy explains the rest of how we handle personal information.
Your consent
When you buy a domain you agree to these terms and consent to your contact details being collected, shared and used as described above. We record the date and the version of these terms you agreed to.
If you give us someone else's details, such as a colleague's, you confirm that you have told them how the details will be used and that they have agreed.
Using your domain
To the best of your knowledge, registering and using the domain must not infringe anyone else's rights, such as a trademark. We refuse names that are too close to well-known brands, but that check does not replace your own.
If you let someone else use your domain, you remain the registrant and are responsible for it. You accept liability for harm caused by wrongful use of the domain unless you promptly disclose that person's identity and current contact details to anyone who gives you reasonable evidence of actionable harm.
Disputes, suspension and cancellation
Your registration can be suspended, cancelled or transferred under ICANN and registry policies, including the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy and the Uniform Rapid Suspension procedure, to correct mistakes by us, the registrar or the registry, or to resolve disputes about the domain.
For disputes about your use of the domain, you submit, without giving up other rights, to the courts where you live and the courts where the registrar is located.
Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you will cover the registry operator, the registrar and Electre, and their directors, officers, employees and agents, for claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your domain registration.
Moving your domain
You can move your domain to another registrar. ICANN's transfer rules lock a domain for 60 days after it is registered, and some changes of registrant can lock it again. Once the lock has passed, choose Transfer out in the domain's details to get the transfer code, then give that code to your new registrar.
Your rights and responsibilities
ICANN publishes plain-language information for everyone who registers a domain, and a summary of registrants' benefits and responsibilities. Both apply to domains bought through Electre.
Questions and complaints
Questions about your domain or these terms go to hello@electre.ai. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, alongside our Terms of Service.
